The K-4 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) is now part of the store of missiles for India, given that it has been tested successfully.
K-4 will fully complete its long way between the initial test and the definite end of missile production on November 5, 2024, making India quite well equipped for defence. These missiles can be fired from inside the nuclear propelling submarine INS Arihant and would likely supplement India's strategic nuclear deterrence.
K-4 is much more than a launch pad, as it packs the nuclear punch that will give India the capability to retaliate even after all ground-based defences have been devastated. This missile thus plays a crucial role in extending the second-strike ability to India and increases its credibility of deterrence on its nuclear arsenal. K-4 now stands for a rising prominence of India in developing sophisticated missile technologies and her serious commitment to improving maritime defence.
India just achieves this as well in building a lethally reliable and robust nuclear deterrent -that approach necessary to the security environments of the world today-an endlessly changing and unpredictable international system. The successful K-4 test clearly promises of India resolve in being self-sufficient in defence technologies and its rightful interests secured in this dynamic geo-strategic contest referred to as the Indo-Pacific.
Not with this is India closing its line of countries becoming the third world's country when it comes to defense in world scenarios; one hit and still continue to maintain the strategy of peace through strength or deterrence.
